Hello, friends! My name is Aulora (アウロラ)! I have just finished second year of the Biological Sciences program at the University of Calgary, and aspire to become a paediatrician. As such, I really enjoy working with kids and walking with them as they grow! Another passion of mine is visual arts, particularly watercolour; I love to play with vibrant colours and spontaneous brush strokes! Two of my favourite artists from whom I draw inspiration are Agnes Cecile and Minjae Lee! Aside from that, I enjoy activities such as swimming, video games, and honestly most anything I have the opportunity to try!
Also, green is my favourite color, and I wear some form of green every day!
From childhood, I have dipped into a variety of forms of Japanese culture, from training in 合気道 for a time, to watching アニメ、to listening to J-pop, and, of course, studying the language. It is my hope that the depth of my understanding in these areas will deepen over the trip, and that I will be able to discover new areas of Japan to enjoy!
I am looking forward to far too much about the trip than I can list! I’m so excited to become immersed in new experiences! Just a few activities that I hope to do include exploring the districts of Tokyo, playing dance-games in arcades, seeing all the street fashion, and eating lots of delicious food! Furthermore, I am excited to experience first-hand a culture different from that of my home country, and I hope that on this trip I will be able to develop a greater understanding of the Japanese people!
